If you are migrating away from Cratejoy as your provider, you will not be able to take the payment records for any subscriptions that came from the Cratejoy Marketplace at cratejoy.com.
We used to transfer Marketplace customers, but merchants have misused this by charging cancelled subscribers after such a transfer was done. If such a thing happens to subscribers who sign up directly on your store, it reflects poorly on your brand. But when this happens to subscribers who’ve bought through and trust the Cratejoy Marketplace, it reflects badly on our brand, in addition to terrible consumer experience. This is something we are not willing to risk.
When a customer signs up for a subscription listed on the Cratejoy marketplace, there is an understanding of what functionality is available to them. Different platforms may not share all facets of this functionality (such as cancelling at anytime), and transferring Cratejoy Marketplace accounts to a different platform would create a disconnect in service and customers would likely not appreciate the transfer of their data without their knowledge or consent.
What about my Customers' other information?
We encourage you to contact your marketplace subscribers and inform them of your move to another platform with information on how to re-subscribe once your new store launches. We do not prevent you from migrating their emails, addresses or other customer data besides the payment records and passwords(which are not stored). You can reference this guide to find out how to tell which subscribers came from the marketplace.
What if I want to keep just my Marketplace listing?
It's possible to migrate to another platform but still maintain your Cratejoy listing on the marketplace and those subscribers. Those subscriptions and any new ones would just be managed within your Merchant Portal as normal.
