If you just purchased the domain name AND/OR just updated your DNS settings on GoDaddy, it can take many hours (and sometimes up to 48 hours) for GoDaddy to propagate the changes and your site be up and running. If you plan on "launching" your Cratejoy store with your custom domain in a few days, you may want to push back your launch date as GoDaddy can take up to 48 hours to update site settings and even have issues then that could put your launch date off. If you make changes and wait up to 48 hours and it is still not working, please reach out to GoDaddy support for assistance.
Navigate to the details of your custom domain
In the top right corner click on My Products, then click the Manage button next to DOMAINS:
Look for the domain you would like to customize and select the gear on the top right corner. Then select Manage DNS.
Add two new records
In the records section of your page you'll want to add two additional records
Select 'Add new record' and enter in.
Type: A Record
TTL: 30 minute (or it's called 1/2 Hour sometimes)
Select 'Add a new record' again and enter in.
Type: CNAME Record
TTL: 30 minute
If you can't set the TTL to 30 minutes, then any lowest time that you can enter should work just fine.
The result should look something like this
If you already have an A record where the name is @ than you must delete that record. Having both records live can result in your site breaking unexpectedly.
Now go back into your Cratejoy Merchant Portal:
Now, go back to your Cratejoy account and enter in your custom domain into the Custom Domain field on the Domains tab. Do not include www when entering in your domain in the custom domain section. Click the "Save" button after you enter in your custom domain in the Merchant Portal.
Your new domain can take 24 to 48 hours to propagate through GoDaddy's servers and become live. If your site isn't live right away, wait a few hours to a day and see if the URL is reachable then. If it isn't, open a support ticket with the GoDaddy support team to see if anything is happening on their end.
Also clearing all your cookies and cache on your browser helps or trying the URL from an Incognito Mode window.
